Game cart

Anyone use game carts for pulling decoy bags out to hunt mainly full body bags? Been thinking of this I think it'll be better then a decoy sled especially thru the grass, if anyone does what carts have u guys had the best luck with?

I use one depending on conditions.
I get a fold up yard barrel. Zip tie to cart and put my dekes and other gear in it.
4 inch black pic with cap on bottom taped to side of cart. Put your wind duck poles in it or your shotgun.

I picked up this cart used this year.  I can fit 2 twelve-slot decoys bags side by side.  And when stacked I can hual 4 doz. decoys in a single trip.  It's still hard work.  if the ground is soft or the brush is high it's more work than its worth.  But I keep all my decoys in twelve slot bags so they stay as new as possible.  The cart is amazing.

I have quite a bit in the past. Depending on what all I am packing out sometimes I like it better than on my back, sometimes its just easier if I only have a dozen or 2 deeks and my fanny pack its easier to just hoof it. I got taller tires for mine and it helps alot in tall grass or marshy stuff. I have even tipped it on its side, tied a bunch of branches and brush to it and made a blind out of it when I dont have anything else.

I think I have seen you dragging this thing before.  Have you considered one of the 4 wheeled carts.  A lot easier to push around with this much gear.

I think I have seen you dragging this thing before.  Have you considered one of the 4 wheeled carts.  A lot easier to push around with this much gear.

You name it I have tried it. Got one of those john Deere wagons ,works well when early and dry. But the mud loads up in the tire treads until you can hardly pull it.
Drug a sled for years and still do when it real wet because the sled will float.
Carrying a dek bag is my last resort.
With the sleds or cart you can take a break without weight on your back.

I bought a J 104 off here a while back and have entertained the idea of tring it since I use couple dozen dekes.

The field is pretty firm 99.9% of the time it gets great sheet water in it I have a small hill that I go down then back up that makes it a pain when I pu the sled that's why I am thinking of one of these game carts and maybe mod it a bit to make it so we can haul about 4-6 dozen full body ducks in slotted bags... Got all summer/ year to think about it or should I try welding a custom cart up... Options options haha

I use one of the Cabelas super mag haulers with the spoke guards so the corn stalks don't stop the wheels. Even in the mud it works well. Several bungies and I sling my gun over my back to and fro the blind.

After dragging my cart with 4 dozen floaters over a mile into the blinds st the local refuge I have decided I'd rather pack 3 dozen on my back. Pulling the cart through the mud and brush is hell. A good decoy bag will allow you to haul a lot on your back and still be fairly comfortable

There is a fellow I talked too who extended the handle area of his cart which made it a lot easier to push and pull. Something like wheel barrel handles.

yeah it isn't a option for every site. Where I hunt I have 1/2 mile of straight tractor road to travel on all flat. But when the sheet water gets 5-6 inches I switch to my sled. By last 6 weeks of season I am tired of the pulling and end up hunting from my boat.

true it does depend on the situation, most of my walks are fairly long, or through water, and I don't have a sled. Short walks on solid ground and I will still use the cart If I need a lot of decoys.

Yea it honestly I know does depend on the spot that I'm hunting but I think the game cart will work best for a few of them sense there grazing cow fields and the grounds pretty firm sense the cows don't mud it up and then the hill I have to go down and back up can be crappy when it's warmer blue bird days being in the waders and such sense I usually got 3-4 slotted dozen decoy bags with gun top and a bucket with my blind bag in it.... Makes going up the flat grassy hill a pain in the rear when I'm solo it's a spot where the more deeks the better. So I think sense I have a sled as well I'll also get a game cart or maybe order material from work and make something custom sense material is cheap from my work. Hopefully I can make something semi light strong and durable. Maybe something my sled can drop into for when it's the nasty days where when your done you just want to toss the deeks in and deal with the mess later and get the heck out of there before your waders fill with rain water... I don't know decisions decisions haha thanks for all the input guys.
